Less is more, keep it simple
When Lilian graduated from both her undergraduate and master’s degree programs, she was always one of the lucky ones who manage to find employment in times where the country is undergoing a financial crisis. Entering the job market during lean times helped honed her strong work ethic and resiliency in successfully doing more with less.
Lilian is a rare breed of consultant that believes that the solution to any business problem can be found by consulting with the people who are closest to the work and crafting a solution where the people are part of the solution. She believes that most teams are aware of what the gaps are, they just need an un-biased party to gather the information, understand why the gaps are present and provide guidance on how to bridge the gaps. Given the right guidance and training, the existing people in the teams can form the major part of the solution to any business problem.
Aside from her skills-based accomplishments, she finds developing and mentoring people very rewarding personally as she enjoys being able to share her passion for Finance with others and observe her mentees learn and grow as well as achieve their full professional potential.
Lilian is a strong opponent of “throwing money at a problem” as an approach to solving a business process problem. She is a believer in expanding the use of a current system or upgrading the skills of existing team members over implementing additional systems or using expensive outside consultants as a crutch to overcome problem areas. Thus, Lilian’s idea of consulting is to get in, identify the issue, provide a solution, train teams to self-manage the solution and move on.
